How eShakti shipping works

eShakti says orders take 13-17 days to arrive. Once they're done creating your custom clothing, how does it get to you? If shipping to the USA, they use FedEx.

In India

First, the package is dropped off at FedEx's site in Noida. (almost always after the shipping cutoff time ☹️)

FedEx takes the package to their location in New Delhi.

Indian Customs releases the package for export out of the country.

The international journey

The package is loaded onto FedEx flight 5279. This flight starts at Guangzhou, China, stops at New Delhi and continues onwards to Dubai, United Arab Emirates followed by Charles de Galle Airport in Paris, France. Besides Delhi, all of these locations are FedEx hubs.

Alternatively, the package could go to Milan, Italy after Dubai. This is also a FedEx hub location.

The package is flown to Memphis, Tennesee, FedEx's massive SuperHub.

In the USA

US Customs releases the package for import into the country.

The package is flown to your local airport, then travels to your local distribution site, then loaded onto a truck for delivery to your home or business.

How long does this take?

It depends on the day it's shipped, weather, and other factors at FedEx, India Customs and US Customs. I've had shipments take anywhere from 4 days to 8 days.

What could go wrong?

• Weather at any airport along the route. Hasn't been a factor for me yet, but if there's anything that impacts air travel, it's weather. Because the shipment is coming from so far away, there's many ways to reroute around any storms.
• Customs delays. Once India Custom's computers were down so the shipment wasn't authorized for export right away.
• Heavy shipping volume. Though even during Covid this didn't seem to be a factor.
• Weekends. eShakti requests weekday delivery. If a package arrives at your local airport on Friday night, FedEx will hold it until Monday and you might not be able to pick it up.
• Porch pirates. I read a lot about missing deliveries. This isn't unique to eShakti at all. Be sure to have your package delivered to a safe and secure location.
